Where procrastination comes to flourish

Behold: this is how I drive traffic to other blog posts I’ve written elsewhere on the Internet

July 11th, 2008 · 4 Comments

Live-blogged my first conference for my job this week—the Southwest Washington Sustainability Conference. I didn’t draw the straw to cover RFK Jr.’s speech, but nonetheless felt super cool with my press pass and everything. Sat in the back and typed as the speakers were doing their ‘thang. The result was not exactly a “live blog” per se, but you can (and should!) read them. Please leave comments:

On transportation options and consuming less
On integrating refrigeration and air conditioning
♦ While you’re at it, check out what my coworkers wrote too

PS, it is apparently our first “beer thirty” at my office: 3:30 on a Friday. My coworker just wheeled over a cart with a vast selection of beer options—I chose Mirror Pond. Heh. I could get used to this.

Very cool that you’re doing something combining your interest in these issues, writing ability and ever-curious brand of intelligence. That kind of writing is something I enjoy, although I rarely get to sit in a session interesting enough to detail it.

And of course the transportation/city planning one is right in my wheelhouse, as any reader knows. We are a foolish/selfish society, and need to come to grips with it.

Oh, and I completely envy your beer-thirty. Pretty hard to do that as a college administrator, though I’m sure the students do.

I read your pieces and commented. Intriguing stuff! I will read your coworkers’ writing a bit later too.

What a great job you did. Thought provoking and informative and these issues are so important all over this country. Kudos to you and thanks for the opportunity to read them!

I long for vodka “quarter of” but perhaps I am making that up.

Oh, shit. They brought you beer on the job? Yeah, I definitely need to move back west.
