The night before we put Chelsea down, I threw her a big going-away party to celebrate her long, well-lived life. Everyone brought her doggy treats (some people brought human treats as well) and the Stink got to munch away on yummy morsels and get lots of petting, swooning, hugs, general lovin’, etc. This movie is from that night.
After hours and hours of trying—to no avail—to get the video to upload to YouTube at a higher quality, I’ve decided to give up and post it as it is. So, yeah, it’s kind of janky, but it’s the only footage I’ve got and this is the only way to share it. Of course, it doesn’t help that the room was dark and loud and the camera we used is primarily intended to take still photographs, but whatever. All you need to know is that the black-and-white dog-like creature you see is Chelsea, and the brown-haired humanish being is Mydogischelsea.

I especially like the person asking you questions about Chelsea so it’s a bit of a biography about her. A proper send-off, indeed.

I must admit, I got a little teary-eyed. I’m sure you miss her still.

A few tears here too. It was sweet to hear the memory of when you got her. A wonderful tribute for a beautiful dog and her girl.
It was very kind of you to post this.

That was beautiful. Nice to see the ol’ pretty pooch again. Looks like a marvelous send-off to an adorable dog. Thanks to a wonderful owner as well.

Very sad to hear about Chelsea. The party looked good and I agreed ^ that the questioner was good, giving us information about Chelsea. We pet our cats a lot when we heard the news. It’s always terribly sad when the time comes.

Awwwwww…..I loved that!! That was so awsome! It brought tears to my ears. Props to the film maker too. She did really well in asking you questions for the documentation!

That was wonderful. A nice tribute, especially with the “interview” part.

Are you still Mydogischelsea now or will you have to change you blog name? I think I’d be sad every day looking at that title. Aw, geez, now I’m getting teary-eyed again.

I watched this Monday evening and haven’t been able to bring myself to comment before now. I definitely welled up at this and it was a really wonderful thing to do. I’m very glad you got to give Chelsea such a nice send off and you saw fit to share a little part of it with us.

I’m so sorry. I didn’t know. I’m sitting in the office crying right now. She was a great dog. A stink like no other.

I had to take a deep breath and a double-take eyewipe on my sleeve…
All I can say right now is
“Chelsea couldn’t have had a better Laura”

Laura, although I just happened upon your site, I wanted to tell you that I admire what you have done in giving Chelsea a proper send-off. The party and video is such a wonderful treasure. I cried a bucket of tears just watching and regretting that I had not done the same. You see, I put down my precious Samantha on Wednesday. She was a cocker spaniel, long-haired dachshund mix and almost 17 years old.
From what I can see, you did everything right…even delaying the vet visit. I only wish I had found you before Wednesday.
I wish you comfort.

Such a sucker. I cried through the whole clip. Thanks for posting it. I hope you’re doing okay.
