Okay, so what’s all this talk of a new Xanga web editor thing? Mine looks exactly the same as it used to. In fact, ever since I upgraded Firefox to the latest version, my WYSIWYG editor hasn’t functioned at all and I’ve been relegated to using HTML code. (Actually, that’s not exactly true; I can edit in rich text but the original post must be in HTML, but whatever. wtf?)
Looks to me like, yet again, we have another case of an upgrade targeted only at those using a product of the Microsoft corporation. It’s like programmers know how shitty the MS programs are, so they purposely only include people suffering though Windows or Internet Explorer in order to somewhat alleviate the stress.
But hey, at least my computer doesn’t crash every two seconds. At least I don’t have to worry about email attachments or spyware. At least I use a safer, more secure browser.
But enough of my Mac-nerd tirade. This is the real reason I am posting (and warning, this is borderline disgusting):
Last night, Chelsea ate her dinner, then promptly vomited it all over the floor, and then just as promptly vacuumed it back into her stomach. She was sick last week and I think that episode taught her a new trick: if she purges after she eats, she can eat again!
Gross.

I had a professor in college who used WYSIWYG quite often in math class. He even pronounced it wis-ee-wig. I never knew it was a real term, meaning other people used it. I thought he made it up.

It is pronounced “wis-ee-wig.” And it is a real word: here’s the Wikipedia definition.

I agree. I may not be able to bold or italicize anything but I don’t need to CTRL + ALT + Delete every five minutes. I like to think it allows the reader to create their own tone in their head while reading. Macs rule. Oh no, Chelsea has learned to binge, purge, binge. Gross.

BLECH to the binge-purge-binge combo. Yuck yuck yuck. Maybe she was looking for money.
As for the new Xanga editor, it popped up for me only 1 time, never to be seen again. I’m not too broken up over it. I’ll just pipe in here as a former mac user and current PC user that I’ve not had a PC crash in years – not since upgrading to Windows XP. The closest thing to a “crash” I had recently was within the last year when I, for reasons unexplainable to me, decided to remove part of XP and had to re-install it. It was irritating but, since it was my own fault and wasn’t terribly hard to do, I’m not too broken up over it.
I’m going to go knock on some wood now …

My dog does the same thing.I’m a firefox fan, myself. I don’t have a mac (sad, I know), but I do use firefox religiously.

I think it was just a beta and only up for about a day. I already found one flaw in it inserting hard carriage returns that showed up if I shifted to HTML mode. I think it was put up so people could find and fix such bugs with it.And a w00t! to Mac usership. Our IT people on campus try to dissuade people from buying Macs, because lots of PCs = job security for them. Unfortunately, that also means that the Mac lab where I teach has some dated equipment.

I already sent a nasty letter to Xanga. I mean – no automatic links or fonts yet? Come on….

I have the same problem as I’ve been a Mac user for years. Has anyone else checked out the new iMac with the Intel chip? They’re going to start making universal programs so that you won’t have to worry about not being able to purchase a program that was previously only available to PC users (don’t know if I’m making sense here, but it looks cool on the apple website). It also comes with a remote control. How neat is that?
Poor Chelsea! However, most dogs aren’t known for their discerning taste…

I should have taken your disgusting warning serious. I just so happen to bite into a “pizza” hot pocket as I read the sentence about Chelsea throwing up. Yeah that made my next swollow AWESOME.
