The City of New York’s website features a map of neighborhoods color-coded by their levels of excessive drinking. Most of Manhattan, northern Staten Island, western Queens, and the hipster part of Brooklyn take the cake. But what I would really like to know is why exactly does Rikers Island, which houses nothing but the city’s correctional facility, have levels of excessive drinking, or for that matter, any drinking at all?
I guess this explains how the guards pass their time:

They actually created (let alone posted) a map of Excessive Drinking by Residence? hahahah.Oh speaking of drinking, RYC from a few days ago (geez I’m slow)…. my DOC is usually beer or red wine (typically Shiraz). But it also depends on my mood though… sometimes I’ll branch out and get something else.I don’t know if this is a Canadian/American thing or not, but for some reason I never hear people ordering Bloody Marys here. Instead people order Caesars, which I think is basically the same thing but with Clamato juice instead of tomato. weird.

Good thinking. One problem, though. I’m sure the list is by Community Board/Police precinct. The Community Board that represents Rikers (Queens CB1, NYPD 114 Precinct) )also represents: Astoria, Old Astoria, Long Island City, Queensbridge, Ditmars, Ravenswood, Steinway, Garden Bay, and Woodside.
THEY’RE the ones with the drinking problem.
